CVS rewards its customers by offering a rewards program called CVS ExtraCare Rewards. Through this program, America largest pharmacy pays you for shopping in the form of ExtraBucks. The rewards accumulate at a rate of 2% on most purchases. ExtraBucks are accumulated quarterly after spending more than $50 on total purchases and pay out in store or online through CVS.com. As a bonus customers also get random ExtraBucks Rewards printed on their receipt after selected purchases. Registering for a CVS account online is highly recommended to manage coupons and view your accumulated ExtraBucks balance. ExtraCare coupons are only available to rewards members. The coupons can be printed at “Coupon Center” kiosk located in each CVS. Alternatively, coupons can be redeemed online if you ExtraCare card is linked.
ExtraCare Beauty club
A bonus rewards program for ExtraCare members that requires a addition signup. Earn 10% back ($3 on $30 in beauty purchases)
Items excluded from the rewards program
Alcohol, prescriptions, co-pay, pseudoephdrine, lottery, milk(where prohibited by law), money orders, postage, pre-paid cards, gift cards, newspapers, magazines, bottle deposits, hunting and fishing licenses.
The CVS Rewards: The Bottom line
While the program requires some effort to maximize your savings, it is far superior to Walgreen’s rewards program. It is difficult to save a significant amount of money through the Walgreens rewards program. Walgreen’s only offers points on a select few items. Conversely, CVS gives you store credit back on almost everything except for a select few items. The 2% rewards store-wide is nice, but the beauty club gives you the best deals and the most savings.
